We had a good turnout this year with 24 competitors, everyone getting through at least one heat on Saturday, Colin Griffin won silver in the U/12 ball throw.
8 made it through to the semi finals on Sunday with 5 making it through to the Finals with Erin Murphy winning Bronze in the u/12 100mFinals

Kerry Primary School Sports 2016
Kerry Primary School Sports in Castleisland on Sat. June 4th, commencing at 11am.
Admission on Sat. is €3 or €10 for a family. A bus will leave the Fair field, Killorglin at 9.45am and Beaufort Hall at 10am. Competitors must have a sticker showing name and event, these will be available on bus.

The Kerry County Juvenile T&F took place at the Track in Castleisland on Sat and Sunday, last Erin Murphy won Gold in the U/11 60m , Meadbh o Sullivan was 4th in the u/16 600m, other club members that took part were … Holly o Sullivan , Sean og o Sullivan, Ciaran o Sullivan and Orlath o Sullivan.
Sean Murphy and Stephen Griffin took part in the masters on Sunday.

Donnacha Coffey, Josh Coffey and Erin Murphy won Medals, Oisin Murphy and Oliver also took part.
Fiona Doyle Star of the Laune received a Munster Star Award at the Munster athletics award night which was held in the Listowel Arms Hotel last Saturday night. Aoife Doyle got a gold medal in the u18 girls discus in the Athletics Ireland Track & Field championships.
Erin Murphy was 1st in the u/10 60m at the Tralee Harriers open sports day .

Saturday 20th Sunday 21st June
Eoghan Hassett u/12 600m was 2nd in the final, Meadbh o Sullivan was 3rd in the 1500m final u/16 Well done to the following who took part in the Semi -Finals and Finals today.
Erin Murphy u/10 100m 5th in Final, Rachel Evans u/14 800m was 7th in her Semi, Aoife o Sullivan u/14 100m 6th in Semi, Sadhbh o Sullivan u/8 80m 5th in Semi, Eoin o Connell u/10 100m 7th in Semi, Liam o Connell u/8 60m 5th in Semi, Well done to all the other at athletes that took part on Saturday also with many getting through a few rounds.!

Community Games The county Community Games athletics were held last weekend in Castleisland. Beaufort was well represented in all the events and the fine weather contributed to an excellent weekend. Beaufort athletes included Ava McEvoy, Keeva Riordan, Grainne Kennedy, Ciaran Doyle, Aoibhinn Coffey, Orla O Sullivan, Clodagh Foley, Pierce Slattery, Juliette Murphy Marina Eagar, Liam Coffey and Fionan O Sullivan, Athletes who qualified for the finals/semi-finals on Sunday were Cillian Slattery, Thomas Healy, Mark O Sullivan Rousse & Kate Murphy. Ellie Mangan got to the final of u10 100m and just missed out on a medal position. Sisters Kerry and Lola Eagar both qualified for the final of the u12 600m. Lola was tripped on the first bend which forced her out of the race. Kerry lead the race from the start with a very fast pace. She ran very well and received a certificate for her efforts.

Niall Carey competed in the final of the u14 800m. Fiona Doyle won gold in the u16 high jump and received a silver in the 200m. The u12 boys and girls relay both qualified for the finals. The girls finished in 5th position. Their team was Meabhdh Kissane, Kerry & Lola Eagar, Kate Murphy and Ciara Casey. The boys got certificates after a great final. Their team was Marc O’Sullivan Rousse, Simon Coffey, Donncha Crowley and Josh Coffey. Fiona will go forward to represent Kerry in the All Ireland Finals in Athlone in August.

U14 athlete Fiona Doyle from Star of the Laune AC. won bronze in the GloHealth National Combined events Championships held over the weekend. Fiona competed in the Pentatlon which consisted of Hurdles, HJ, Shot, LJ & 800m. After 4 events she was in 4th place. The final event was the 800m. Fiona ran a superb time to win the 800m in a time of 2:29.50 She was the only Kerry athlete competing. Well done Fiona. Aoife Doyle ISK competed in the Aviva Irish Schools Track & Field Championship in Tullamore last weekend. Aoife got a silver medal in the Intermediate Discus with a throw of 33.09m and bronze in the Intermediate Hammer with a throw of 43,75m

Glounaguillagh were definitely the winners of the day with their strong performance in the relays
Star of the Laune athlete Aoife Doyle ISK got gold medals in the intermediate Hammer and Discus competition in the Munster Schools Track & Field Championship which was held in CIT last weekend.  Fiacra Clifford was just outside the medals in the Intermediate mile race.Fiona Doyle got a silver medal in the Munster combined events.   Aoife Doyle got a bronze medals in the hammer and discus in the Munster Junior Track & Field championships.  These events were held in Waterford on Monday 5th May .  Full results on munsterathletics.com

The Kerry Athletics Awards Night on Friday night – Congrats to Aoife Doyle to got an International Award and Caoimhe O’Sullivan and Niall Carey who were Club Award Winners.

Well done to Patrick Galvin who competed in the National Juvenile Development competition which was held in Meath recently. Patrick did well and received a medal form this event. Well done also to Aoife Doyle who got a silver medal in the shot putt with a PB of 11.07m in the U17 Munster Indoor championship held in Nenagh over the weekend.  Her sister Fiona got a silver in the U13 800m and silver in the High Jump with a PB of 1.43m.  She was just outside the medals with 4th position in the shot putt and 5th in both the 60m sprint and hurdles events. Fiacra Clifford just finished outside the medals in 4th position in the u16 1500mm. 
Our County Juvenile Indoor Games are being held on 30th March in the Presentation Gym Killarney at 11AM.
It is open to athletes who have not won a County, Munster or National medal. It is for U9 to U12. All entries will be online.

Fiachra Clifford bronze U16 1500m,Fodhla Houlihan bronze ball throw & Eoghan Hassett silver U10 100m.Erin Murphy made it to semi finals as did Ryan Diggin U10 100m.Maeve O Sullivan finished 6th in the final of U14 800m. Killorglin U12 girls also won county title & are in Munster final this weekend.

Aoife Doyle got a bronze medal in the girls u16 shot-put at the indoor all-Ireland juvenile championships in Athlone this weekend with a throw of 10.47m. Two weeks ago Fiona Doyle won a silver medal in the girls under 13 600m at the indoor all-Ireland juvenile championships. She also came 6th in the 60m sprint and came 5th in the high jump with a new PB of 1.35m.

Fiona Doyle Star of the laune was a member of the kerry u12 cross country relay who got silver medal in the inter county juvenile relay compedition which was held in Tullamore last Sunday 24/2/2013 Aoife Doyle got a silver medal in the U16 shot putt munster Indoor athletic compedition which was held in Nenagh on Sunday 24/2/2013.
