Dragons Den

Training for Juveniles on Saturday mornings 10.10am to 11.10am for all the children who trained in the Dragons den in July
➡️ 11.20am to 12.20pm for everyone who trained in the hockey pitch.

➡️ Please complete covid health check before 9am on the day of training for all groups

Training for those aged 17 and older is held at the Dragons Den on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7pm.

Day 2 U12 to U19 MTU Cork July 17th/18th 

Great performances today at the Munster championships, from Keeva Riordan, bronze in the u14 1500m, Marina Eagar and Orla O Sullivan, u16 1500m and u16 100m.
Well done also to Kerry Eagar, 3rd lady, and Miriam Beasley who completed the Carrantoohill mountain race in scorching conditions


Munster u/12 /u/19 MTU Cork
The long awaited track and field season started at the weekend with the U12 to U19 Munster championships taking place at MTU (formerly CIT) in Cork.
Darragh Clifford U/16 winning Bronze in the javelin, he also took part in the shot put finishing 5th. Fionnan Quigg U/13 finished 7th In the Shot put and competed in the Javelin.

Sunday saw the girls competition and we had a good contingent with Kerry Eager U/19 4th in the 3000m and 2nd in the 800m with a great time of 2:30, Lola Eager u/17 ran the 3000 and 800, Marina Eager 7th in the 3000 and 3rd in the 800 in a great time of 11:33, In the 600 U/12 Nina Diggin Emma, Casey and Laura o Brien Leahy with Laura running a great time of 2:03,
In the 600 U/13 Nell Thompson Doireann Burke and Lilly Riordan ran with Lilly running 1:56.
A great turnout by the club and with more competition over the next few weeks some more experience and maybe a few medals gained.

Charles o Shea 5k and 10k Wednesday January 1st 2020

Record numbers of 350 Ran Jogged or walked either route in perfect weather conditions,    With 30 or so club members and many more locals taking part. Prizes were for the  top 6 male and female in each race. There were also spot prizes and hamper draws with profits going towards the renovation of the Hall in Beaufort starting in January.

Thanks to all helpers and marshals without whom the event can’t take place.

Some 20 Star of the Laune young  athletes took part in the Club Championships in Castleisland on Sunday May 5th.
Well done to all who took part and those that qualified in their respective events.
Special mention to Darragh Clifford 2nd u14 shot putt, Cormac McCurtin was 2nd in both 100m & 800m, Fionan Quigg was 2nd in the long jump & 4th in the 60m, Marina Eager was 4th in the 800m her sister Lola was 5th, Riadh o Sullivan 5th in the 80m

Great results for Star of the Laune at the county 5k road race in Kenmare on Sunday 24th, Niamh Clifford was 2nd senior. Anne and Mike Mangan won their respective categories, Vivian Juffs was 2nd o/45 and James Clifford was 5th junior and ladies were 2nd senior team.
